We're currently searching for a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in Structural Engineering. The Structural Engineer will participate in designing and detailing conveyor equipment, platforms, header steel, and other conveyor system components and will learn to take on more complex engineering responsibilities such as system layouts, structural design, and field support. This is a full-time, direct, hybrid-remote opportunity at our office in Novi, MI.
Job Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
Ability to use CAD and work with other engineers and designers in developing system design and support structures.
Perform structural design calculations per applicable codes, design & detail checking.
Preparation of design calculation packages for PE stamping.
PE stamping of design drawings and calculations for applicable states.
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain structural and mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
Recommend design modifications to optimize structural designs
Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including the selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil (Structural) Engineering. A combination of relevant work experience with industrial automation or material handling systems design may also qualify.
Experience with Structural design software such as Risa, Idea Static, and STAAD
Experience with CAD systems such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor.
Licensed/Registered Civil/Structural Professional Engineer in Michigan; multiple states preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills, customer service, ability to work in a team and individually, and open to working in our office in Novi with the flexibility to work from home at times.
